Snow has been falling in the mountains and by 1:30 p.m., it started coming down in Cleveland and Gaston counties. By 4 p.m., steady snow started falling in the Queen City.
Forecast:
- Light snow is starting to build in and soon it will mix with freezing rain and sleet, said Chief Meteorologist John Ahrens on Friday afternoon.
- Our biggest worries will be travel and the potential for ice accumulations on our trees and limbs.
- This storm is out quickly tomorrow morning, and we may even have some sunshine peeking through.
- This will help melt the snow but heads up -- it will all refreeze on Sunday morning making the drive to church pretty dangerous, Ahrens said.
