FORECAST:
- The heat is expected to become the main weather story this week as scattered storms provide little relief from rising temperatures.
- Storms could move through the area later today and into this evening, with some lingering activity possible into early Wednesday morning.
- Temperatures will climb back into the mid-90s Wednesday afternoon, followed by a stretch of limited rain chances through Friday.
- That will allow highs to reach the upper 90s, with heat index values approaching 103 degrees.
- The combination of extreme heat and humidity will make conditions feel significantly hotter, especially during the afternoon hours.
