Ohio man detains robbery suspect at gunpoint

MADISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — An Ohio homeowner briefly held a burglary suspect at gunpoint on Sunday after allegedly catching the man trying to break into a safe inside the residence’s garage. That led to the suspect’s arrest, authorities said.

According to a news release from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, the homeowner, who has a concealed carry permit, allegedly caught Raymond Earl Flack, 29, of Middleton, attempting to open the safe.

The suspect managed to flee and met a second suspect, identified as Emily Abigail Bush, 29, of Middletown, who was driving a white Ford truck, the sheriff’s office said.

The truck was stopped by deputies, WCPO-TV reported. The homeowner identified the suspects, who were then taken into custody, according to WXIX-TV.

Both suspects were taken to Middletown City Jail, according to WCMH-TV.

Flack was charged with burglary, safecracking, possessing criminal tools and criminal damaging, according to the news release. Bush was charged with complicity to burglary, complicity to safecracking, complicity to possessing criminal tools and complicity to criminal damaging, the sheriff’s office said.

“If you plan to conduct this type of criminal behavior in our county, beware because will be waiting for you,” Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones said in a statement.
