Two rounds of icy precipitation caused major travel disruptions Sunday. Although that moisture moved out, roads will remain slick because overnight lows will not get above freezing.

The winter storm caused over 1,100 cancellations and more than 120 delays at the Charlotte Douglas airport, according to FlightAware.
CATS has suspended all bus and light rail service. Officials hope service will resume at 10 a.m. Monday.
Department of Transportation crews are working 12-hour shifts to treat the roads. Officials urge people to stay off the roads.
Here are some of the storm’s impacts on travel:
11 p.m.:
All lanes on I-85 North at Exit 20 in Gaston County are still closed after a tractor-trailer flipped onto its side spilling fuel. The crash happened at about 4 p.m. The road is now expected to reopen at 2 a.m. on Tuesday, DOT says.
7:45 p.m.:
Charlotte Douglas International Airport cancellations: 1,145; delays: 117.
5:45 p.m.:
A ground stop was issued for American Airlines flights at Charlotte Douglas airport.
4:55 p.m.:
MEDIC: There have been 22 motor vehicle accidents.
4 p.m.:
I-85 N is shut down at Exit 20 because a tractor-trailer flipped, Gastonia Police said. Hazmat clean-up underway due to fuel spill. No injuries have been reported. The northbound lanes are expected to reopen at 7 p.m.
Detour: Motorists are advised to use the Exit 20 off-ramp and continue to the I-85 North on-ramp.

I-85 S at mile marker 52 in Concord: Right lane closed due to crash
2:55 p.m.:
UPDATED: Monroe Expressway East in Monroe is closed at Exit 270 (Austin Chaney Road) due to crash. Expected to end at 5:45 p.m.
2:50 p.m.:
Vehicle crash on I-77 toll near W.T. Harris Boulevard. Express lane is blocked. 2 of 5 lanes closed.
1 p.m.:
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police cruiser spins out and crashes on I-85N at Mallard Creek Road exit. 1 of 5 lanes closed.
