Shot fired after altercation on CATS bus

CHARLOTTE — Police are investigating an altercation on a Charlotte Area Transit System bus that resulted in a shot being fired on Thursday.

A shot was fired on a CATS bus around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday on the 6800 block of Lawyers Road.

Two people on the CATS bus were involved in an altercation, according to a CATS representative.

The suspect then pointed a gun at the victim and then fired a shot to incite fear, according to a Charlotte Mecklenburg Police report.

The shot was fired into the bus floor, according to a CATS representative.

No one was injured and the incident is still under investigation by CMPD, according to a CATS representative.
