HICKORY, N.C. — Police are investigating a shooting in Hickory on Friday night.
It happened before 9 p.m. at an apartment complex on 2nd Street Court SW.
Police said one person was killed in the shooting and two others were injured. The suspect has been taken into custody.
Neighbors told Channel 9 they heard multiple rounds fired in the parking lot.
One person was killed. Police identified the victim as 36-year-old Donnie Morgan.
Two others were sent to a hospital with gunshot wounds, police said.
Nearly two dozen officers from Hickory Police and the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office responded.
Investigators have arrested 28-year-old Melvin Ramseur in connection with the shooting.
Ramseur has been charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder, investigators said.
No additional details have been made available.
