WILMINGTON, N.C. — The University of North Carolina at Wilmington says the campus is “all clear” after a report of a gunman at the school Thursday evening.

UNCW said just before 10 p.m. that the call was a “false alarm,” and there was no active attacker on campus.

The school posted its first alert just after 7:30 p.m., according to UNCW’s Twitter page. The campus said police are investigating reports of a gunman. At 8:15 p.m., the school said law enforcement was sweeping the campus.

Nobody was reported to be hurt in the incident.
