CHARLOTTE — The PGA of America is looking for local workers to help its primary contractors and suppliers fill out their staffs for the upcoming PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club.
At least 250 people from the area will be hired.
This week, the organization began accepting applications for jobs including operations, bartenders, painters, janitorial, general labor, carpentry, transportation assistance and construction.
“And a lot of labor around installation of things, for example, installation of televisions across the entire PGA Championship campus,” PGA of America Chief People Officer Sandy Cross told CBJ.
The hiring is part of PGA JobMatch, a program aimed at providing more opportunities in golf to diverse people from underrepresented backgrounds.
