CHARLOTTE — The Carolina Panthers are bringing back a familiar face to help coach their defense.
DeAngelo Hall is returning to the coaching staff and will work with the team’s cornerbacks.
Hall played 14 seasons in the NFL and previously served as a coaching assistant with the Panthers in 2023 and 2024.
Head coach Dave Canales said he values Hall’s willingness to challenge conventional thinking and speak up about how players should approach certain techniques.
“My personal observation of D-Hall and the way that he, you know, will courageously challenge the status quo and ask for guys to play certain techniques, voice opinions, that’s something that I really value,” Canales said.
Hall’s return comes after the Panthers fired defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero and defensive passing game coordinator Jonathan Cooley last week.
Defensive line coach Todd Wash is now serving as the team’s interim defensive coordinator.
