AVERY COUNTY, N.C. — The Avery County Sheriff’s Office has located a missing 11-year-old boy from the Minneapolis area.
Officials announced that they were conducting a search for the boy and needed help from the public on Monday morning.
They announced that he had been located before midday.
In a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office, the child was described as being 4 feet 11 inches tall and weighing about 90 pounds.
Officials said he has medium dirty blonde hair and hazel eyes.
He had last been seen wearing camouflage pants, a camouflage shirt, and a bright green shirt underneath.
He was last seen at his home. Officials believed he was traveling on foot, possibly headed toward Elk Park or Frank.
Anyone with information on the boy’s whereabouts was encouraged to contact police.
