MEDIC: 1 stabbed in Uptown Charlotte

CHARLOTTE — One person is seriously hurt following a stabbing in Uptown Charlotte Tuesday night.

It happened around 10:30 p.m. near the 7-Eleven below the Catalyst Apartments on West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

MEDIC said the victim was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

One witness said it took about 15 minutes for police to get the victim to the ambulance for care.

“I look over, and there’s a guy with blood down his shirt, on his pants. He’s being restrained by police,” Hayes Robertson, a resident at the Catalyst apartments said. “He’s saying ‘I know my rights.’ They’re trying to help him, but he’s not really accepting the help.”

No word from CMPD is any arrests have been made.
