CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte Hornets have traded center Nick Richards to the Phoenix Suns for a package that includes guard Josh Okogie and draft picks, the team announced.

The trade was made official Wednesday evening. The Hornets traded Richards and a second-round draft pick to the Suns for Okogie and three second-round picks. Charlotte received second-round draft picks from the Denver Nuggets in 2026 and 2031, in addition to a second-round draft pick from Phoenix in 2031.

The Suns were sent a 2025 second-round draft pick, the least favorable between Denver and the Philadelphia 76ers, to the Suns, according to the Hornets.

Richards was sent to the Hornets in 2020 by the New Orleans Pelicans in a draft night trade. He had averaged 8.9 points and 7.5 rebounds so far this season. Okogie is coming to the Queen City with seven years of playing experience and averaged 6.0 points and 2.9 rebounds this year.
