CHARLOTTE — Guard and Grace will put a modern spin on the traditional steakhouse when it opens in Charlotte next year.
The concept by Denver-based TAG Restaurant Group has inked a deal for 10,224 square feet at Queensbridge Collective. It expects to open on the 10th floor of 1111 S. Tryon St. in mid-2026.
Queensbridge Collective is a mixed-use development under construction at the edge of uptown and South End. Riverside Investment & Development and Woodfield Development are behind that project.
Executive chef and owner Troy Guard says the restaurant sets itself apart by being more modern and chef driven. Everything is made fresh in-house. His wife, Nikki Guard, is a sommelier and oversees the beverage program. She often can be found working at the restaurant.
“I just think we do it a little bit differently,” he says. “To me, when I say steakhouse it means a style of service. A price point. Ambiance. We want to be in that upper echelon of restaurants when it comes to service and hospitality.”
