RALEIGH, N.C. — A former state senate candidate’s group is spending the day reading tens of thousands of voter names in Raleigh.
At 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Kate Barr’s “Can’t Win Victory Fund” started reading the names of every voter whose ballot is being challenged in the Jefferson Griffin, Allision Riggs State Supreme Court race.
The group expects it will take 17 hours to read the whole list.
Griffin is challenging 60,000 ballots because he claims they were missing information on their registration form.
Riggs finished ahead of Griffin by a little more than 700 votes.
These challenges are currently being heard in the Federal Court of Appeals and the State Supreme Court.
