FORT MILL, S.C. — A 28-year-old man was shot ank killed Sunday night at the Lakeview Apartments in Fort Mill, York County officials said.
The homicide occurred around 9:15 p.m., and a person of interest has been taken into custody, the York County sheriff said. Damien Crandell died at the scene, the coroner said.
Authorities have assured the public that there is no active threat, and the investigation is ongoing.
The identity of the person of interest have not been released by authorities.
Autopsy and toxicology results will be completed this week.
Additionally, the motive behind the homicide remains unclear as detectives continue their investigation.
