FEMA deadline: Last day to apply for Helene assistance in SC

CHARLOTTE — If you live in South Carolina, Tuesday is the last day to apply for Helene assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

FEMA said anyone who suffered losses or damage from the storm can register for help, even if you have insurance.

You can apply online, in person at a disaster recovery center or through the FEMA app.

In North Carolina, FEMA extended the deadline for applications until Feb. 6.

Homeowners and renters in impacted counties are eligible for financial help.
