LINCOLNTON, N.C. — The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office was searching for 74-year-old George Reid Edwards. He was located and is safe, the sheriff said on Feb. 4.

Deputies said George Reid Edwards was last seen around 5 a.m. Friday on Buffalo Shoals Road.
He is believed to be driving a black 2017 Chrysler Pacifica passenger van with a North Carolina license plate that reads ELH-4753. The vehicle has a Dallas Cowboys sticker on the windshield.
Deputies said Edwards left his home without his cell phone or wallet. He is believed to have cognitive impairment, according to family members.
A Missing Endangered Alert for Edwards has been issued by the North Carolina Center for Missing Persons.
