CSX freight trains are moving once again through the North Carolina mountains.
Helene damaged or destroyed nearly 60 miles of track one year ago.
Before then, the rails carried about 14 million tons of freight a year.
The first coal train rolled into Tennessee on Thursday from Spruce Pine, official said.
The Charlotte Observer reported some tracks still remain shut down.
