CHARLOTTE — Charlotte is getting its first pro women’s basketball team in 20 years as part of a new entity called The UpShot League.
Jacksonville, Florida-based Zawyer Sports & Entertainment introduced UpShot League this week as well as four inaugural season teams, culminating this morning at Bojangles Coliseum with the unveiling of the Charlotte club.
The inaugural season will begin in May 2026. Teams will play 40-game seasons with 20 home contests and 20 away.
