CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte City Council is one step closer to providing funding for a new Excelsior Club project.
Last month, developers proposed tearing down and rebuilding the historic club in west Charlotte.
On Monday, the Economic Development Committee unanimously voted to recommend allocating $1.5 million in COVID-19 funds for the project.
The full city council will hold a vote in the coming weeks.
