Cabarrus commissioners vote to fire county manager after 4 months

CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. — Monday night, Cabarrus County Commissioners voted 3 to 2 to fire County Manager Sean Newton.

Commissioner Lynn Shue made the motion said the firing is with cause.

Chairman Jeff Jones and Commissioner Kenny Wortman also voted in favor of the firing.

Newton only served in the role for four months. Jones, however, declined to comment on the firing.
