CHARLOTTE — Belk is calling its corporate employees back into the office for the first time since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The employees will be returning to the headquarters at 2801 W. Tyvola Road to work in person for 3 days a week, The Charlotte Observer is reporting.
Belk spokesperson Jessica Rohlik told The Charlotte Observer that more frequent in-person work will improve productivity and collaboration.
Belk corporate first went to remote working at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
During this change, Belk officials said the employees “overwhelmingly” supported working from home. They also said the company saw an increase in productivity.
When asked by The Charlotte Observer, Rohlik declined to comment on why the corporation has decided to return to in-person work.
