CHARLOTTE — The Bottle Cap Group is reviving Nickyo’s Rodeo, with a spring opening planned.
It will be at 120 W. Bland St. in South End. The Charlotte-based restaurant group is transforming an 8,600-square-foot, 85-year-old building into that concept.
Siblings Nicky and Bessie Panos operated the original Nickyo’s from 1985 to 1994. Nicky Panos — an innovator in Charlotte’s nightlife scene — created a restaurant and bar that was a draw for executives as well as those seeking a night out. Karaoke was popular, with Bessie Panos often found singing.
Business partners Valerie Brewer and Britton McCorkle — both fans of Nickyo’s — had been looking for an opportunity to revive the concept.
