GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — An Amtrak train was stopped in Gaston County early Tuesday morning after hitting a tractor-trailer.
The train was traveling from New Orleans to New York when it hit the truck that was stuck on the railroad tracks along Lewis Farm Road and Bessemer City-Kings Mountain Highway just before 5 a.m.

There were no reported injuries to the 113 passengers or crew onboard, Amtrak officials said.
Amtrak is now working with state and local law enforcement agencies to investigate the incident.
