82-year-old driver charged after allegedly hitting, killing woman outside fairgrounds

Pedestrian killed outside Cleveland County fair

SHELBY, N.C. — The 82-year-old man accused of hitting a woman with his car and killing her on Wednesday has been charged, investigators said.

Arthur Durazzi, of Lancaster, was driving past the entrance to the Cleveland County fair when he hit Sarah Queen with his car, according to court records.

Durazzi now faces charges for death by motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed.
