CHARLOTTE — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have launched a death investigation in NoDa after a person was pronounced deceased early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the 4000 block of Redwood Avenue just after 3 a.m. Sunday. CMPD said officers were responding to a call requesting that they assist MEDIC.

At the scene, they found one person with life-threatening injuries. CMPD said that MEDIC transported the victim to a nearby hospital.

The victim was later pronounced deceased.

Channel 9 could see debris on the ground at the scene that was noted with evidence markers. A truck with branding reading “NuCO2″ was on the scene with a shattered passenger window

CMPD said the investigation is active and ongoing.
